Happy Wheels has arrived just in time as the dreaded extinction of Flash draws near—what a tense moment that was. We apologize for any inconvenience caused and hope the anxiety over losing Flash hasn’t disturbed your sleep. If you weren’t aware that the game was in development, here’s some good news: this release marks the first public version, so please bear with us as we work through any remaining bugs.
Although I still favor Flash, I appreciate this version’s excellent performance on mobile devices. Currently, there are no on-screen controls for mobile gameplay, but this feature will be included in the next update. Thank you for your patience. If you’re eager to try the game on your phone now, a Bluetooth keyboard can provide a great workaround.
While I initially stated that the game would run at 60 frames per second, some of the more challenging levels may experience slight slowdown at that rate. Fortunately, this setting is adjustable, and I might host a specific 60 Hz version on a separate page for users with high-performance CPUs. Overall, Happy Wheels JS aims to faithfully replicate the original’s design and gameplay. The user data, levels, and replays remain intact from the original release, with the only thing gone being the looming threat of cosmic annihilation.
